Valkee is based on a 20-member interdisciplinary team of researchers at the University of Oulu in the fields of neurobiology, psychatry and brain research that deals since 2007 with the project. A total of 350 person were studied, which makes the project to one of the largest study programs for light therapy research.
The result of the study was that the human brain has several light-sensitive zones. If appliqued light comes directly through the ear canal into the brain the activity will be stimulate. This stimulation is effective for the treatment of mood disorders, associated with symptoms such as anxiety, fatigue and reduced mental capacity. These are all new and revolutionary results!
